The New York Times is an ally to the people. But how can they champion a new generation of readers? Millennials and Gen Z outnumber Boomers, but they are less likely to pick up a newspaper and more likely to surf the web and use social media to keep up on current events. We decided to create a social media campaign that would get the conversation started, and guide our young voters to a website created just for them. The Third is a microsite created to educate young voters on current events, the candidates, registering to vote, and staying updated on important election dates in their area.
